Scholarships

High School Students
- Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to enroll (or are already enrolled) in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in North Carolina.
- Applicants must be pursuing culinary arts, hospitality management, or tourism.
- Applicants must be permanent NC residents.
- Up to 10 awards are available.
- Recipients in two-year degree programs will receive $750 the first year. Awards are renewable once provided students maintain full-time enrollment in the major and satisfactory academic performance. Renewal awards will be $1,000 each.
- Recipients in four-year programs will receive $1,500. Awards are not renewable, however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Community College / Culinary Students in Two-Year Programs
- Applicants must be students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year college or culinary program in NC.
- Applicants must be pursuing a degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or tourism.
- Applicants must be permanent NC residents.
- Up to seven awards are available.
- Recipients will receive $750 for their second year of two-year program.
- Awards are for one year only.
Colleges / Universities / Culinary Students in Four-Year or Graduate Programs
- Applicants must be students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college, university, or culinary program in NC.
- Applicants must be pursing a degree in culnary arts, hospitality management, or tourism.
- Applicants who have already earned an undergraduate degree from a four-year hospitality or culinary arts degree program in NC and who are planning to enroll or are already enrolled in a full-time graduate course of study pursuing a graduate degree in a hospitality related field or a MBA in NC for the entire academic year may apply.
- Applicants must be permanent NC residents.
- Up to seven awards are available.
- Awards are $1,500 each.
- Awards are not renewable, however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Founding Partner Scholarships
Golden Corral Scholarship. One award of $4,000 to a rising college junior enrolled in a four-year culinary or hospitality program in NC. Award is not renewable. Applicant must be a permanent NC resident.
IFH Foodservice Distribution Scholarship. One award of $4,000 to a rising college junior enrolled in a four-year culinary or hospitality program in NC. Award is not renewable. Applicant must be a permanent NC resident.
Johnson & Wales University Scholarship. One award of up to $4,000, based on financial eligibility, to a graduating high school senior planning to enroll at Johnson and Wales Charlotte. Award is renewable. Applicant must be a permanent NC resident.
Industry Partner Scholarship

K & W Cafeterias Scholarship. One award of $4,000 to a rising college junior enrolled in a four-year culinary of hospitality program in NC. Award is not renewable. Applicant must be a permanent NC resident.
William F. Carl Scholarship
The William F. Carl Scholarship honors the late co-founder of Golden Corral by granting scholarships to eligible children of hourly employees in the restuarant industry. William F. Carl was a firm believer that the dedication and hard work of hourly workers were the industry's foundation for growth and success.
Vickie Clark-Flaherty Scholarship
The Vickie Clark-Flaherty Scholarship honors the late senior product implementation manager at Golden Corral by granting scholarships to women in the foodservice industry. Clark-Flaherty epitomized what it takes to be successful in the foodservice industry: determination, vision, and the highest work ethic.
